Case Study - Brand Identity, 2023
Log Nests
Treehouse construction & care a brand where the tree is the house.
01
The Mark
Log Nests is a fictional company that builds and cares for treehouses: prefabricated DIY kits, expert installation, ongoing maintenance even an "Is My Tree Suitable?" feasibility check that saves customers a site visit. A brand about living in the trees, worry-free.
The whole identity lives in one image: a tree that is also a home. The canopy is a cluster of leaves standing in for the roof - the "nest" - while the trunk carries the house body and a single window. Shelter and nature aren't two ideas joined by a plus sign; they're the same shape.
02
From Sketch to Mark
Three first directions came out of the moodboard: a woodpecker on a rooted trunk, a house grown into a canopy, and log rings held inside a house silhouette. The canopy direction won then went through six development rounds, slowly turning the trunk itself into the house, until the mark worked in full color, black, and white.
03
In the Wild
The campaign speaks in three imperatives - Plant Your Home. Beautify Your Tree. Move to Your Tree. - over the product and service range, from DIY and office treehouses to construction, maintenance, and tree care.
Packaging follows the same voice: a kraft DIY window pack box that reads like a friendly manual contents, dimensions, product code and a shipping container livery that turns the mark loose at freight scale.
04
Log Nests Connect
The identity also extends into a companion mobile app designed in Adobe XD. Log Nests Connect turns treehouse ownership into an ongoing service relationship rather than a one time installation.
The multi-screen prototype covers onboarding and account access, a home dashboard, tree information, expert discovery, weekly articles, profiles, calendar planning, and detailed maintenance reminders. Users can learn about their trees, organize care, and stay connected with specialists through one branded product.
The interface carries the same visual language into digital space: deep forest green, treehouse photography, and the tree home mark form the opening experience before the service tools take over.
